Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Co-chairs Figen Yüksekdağ and Selahattin Demirtaş made a press statement over the announcements on the outcome of snap election.
Yüksekdağ said her party had witnessed a surprising and positive outcome from the June 7 election but that subsequent political developments led to a snap election.
"The five-month-period from June 7 to Nov. 1 was an abnormal period, so we could not evaluate this period independently" Yüksekdağ told a press conference outside the HDP headquarters in Ankara after the unofficial announcement of the Nov. 1 election.
Yüksekdağ said those in power had ratcheted up tension since June 7 and that it was the HDP which faced the harshest conditions in the subsequent period.
Following the statement of Yüksekdağ, Co-Chair Selahattin Demirtaş told there has not been a free and just pre-electoral term and HDP has achieve to gain around 11 percent of votes aimd a "great uproar" where the party has not produced any election campaigns.
Demirtaş urged the reason of the drop in HDP's votes against June 7 elections were "policies of massacres" against the party.
"We have lost 1 million of votes, however we stood up against fascism and massacre policies" said Demirtaş.
Demirtaş added the significant majority in participation to elections was promising and every single vote to any parties were honorable.
Today a party has won the 50 percent of the votes. Still, the country is not celebrating in a festive air. That is because the half of the country is concerned, fearing of the madness the authority could reach. But we exist, we will continue resisting.
